Kitzingen and Wiesbaden Capture Army/Air Force Basketball Titles
2 April 2006

The Army came out on top in both the men's and women's divisions of the Army/Air Force Basketball Championships with Kitzingen and Wiesbaden taking home top honors.

The #3 Lady Rattlers of Kitzingen defeated hometown favorite #2 Ramstein Lady Rams in a game that saw Ramstein up by eight points in the second half only to half the championship swept out from underneath them; Kitzingen beats Ramstein 56-46. In the men's final, the Marauders of Mildenhall helped their chances toward capturing the title by beating the #1 Wiesbaden Eagles in the first of two championship games. Mildenhall won the first game 84-69. Game two proved to be the opposite as Wiesbaden dominated most of the game and sent the USAFE Champions home with the second place trophy. Wiesbaden wins the championship 84-79.

Day 1 is complete! Many exciting games including one overtime game which saw the Wiesbaden Eagles defeat the Ramstein Rams. Wiesbaden hit a three-point shot with :07 left on the clock to send the game into overtime and in the overtime period, Deon Pearman of Wiesbaden finger-rolled the Eagles to victory with :0.6 remaining in the game.
