Awards will be presented for each event immediately following the event!
Eligibility: U.S. ID-card holders assigned to Europe or TDY to Europe for 30 days or more and NATO ID-card holders with US installation access cards. Please inquire about specific eligibility rules if you need clarification.
Lodging: Limited on-base lodging is available for the nights of 16-18 April.
Available are VQ's, TLF's (w 1 bedroom) & TLF's (w 2 bedrooms).

April 16 - Mountain Bike Race
First Event of the 2011 U.S. Forces Europe Mountain Bike Series
Schedule
of Events:
0800- Meet at the Campo Delta Car Park
Check in and race number pickup. Course will be open for training/recon. Entrants will be guided to official start location.
1000- Race Starts -- all categories
1230- Approximate time of race completion
1300- Closing Remarks/Awards Presentations – USAFE Sports Representative and Sponsors.
Awards will be presented to the first, second and third place finishers in each category following the race, at the course site by the Sponsors.
Directions to MTB Course:
From Aviano AB heading toward the mountains, turn left at stop sign on
Mountain Highway. Follow Mountain Highway until you see the sign for
the Le Masiere Restaurant, turn right
here; parking lot is about 200m down this dirt road on the right side.

Men's Open
Men's Senior (Birth years 1971-1980)
Men's Masters (Birth year 1970 and earlier)
Women's Open
Category for the U.S. Forces Mountain Bike Series is determined by
birth year. The U.S. Forces Series has more categories than what is
offered at this event and results will be credited to the appropriate
category for series points.
Race Distance:
All Men's categories - 5 laps = 27km
Women - 3 laps = 16.2km

of Events:
0800- Meet at the Dragon Fitness Centre, guided to official start location. Check in and race number pickup, Course will be open for training/recon
1000- Race Starts -- all categories
1130- Approximate time of race completion
1200- Closing Remarks/Awards Presentations – USAFE Sports Representative and Sponsors
1400- If race held on BASE then the hill climb time – trial portion will go into effect and start at 1500.
Awards will be presented to the first, second and third place finishers in each category following the race, at the course site. By the Sponsors.
Time Trial Hill Climb Map
Course: Note: subject to change on event day. Road course (snow coverage permitting) Piancavallo Route attached will be at 1200mtrs Above Sea Level at the ski resort of Piancavallo, there will be climbing involved if there is too much snow on the road then the event will be held on BASE.
Directions to Road Course:
From Aviano AB heading toward the mountains, follow signage toward Piancavallo (yellow signs). At the top of the mountain at the roundabout take the left toward “Centro” find parking go to Scuola Sci Aviano – Piancavallo (Ski School). (See attached map)

Men's Open
Men's Senior (Birth years 1971-1980)
Men's Masters (Birth year 1970 and earlier)
Women's Open
Men must compete in the category of their age -- there is no option for
masters and seniors to compete in the open division.
Race Distance:
All men's categories - 6 laps = 53km
Women - 4 laps = 35.3km
Awards: Awards will be presented to the first, second and third place finishers in each category. The awards ceremony will be held at the start/finish area immediately after the race.
