
2010 USAFE Golf Championships Tournament
Woodlawn Golf Course, Ramstein AB, GE, 25-29 July 2010.
Tournament Format: This championship is a 54-hole stroke play tournament. Handicaps will be considered only for ‘grouping’ purposes in the first round; not for scoring. The USAFE Championship will be governed by the USGA and local Woodlawn Golf Course rules and include the following categories:
-Men’s Open
-Men’s Senior (30-39)
-Men’s Master (40+)
-Women’s Open
-Women’s Master (40+)
Eligibility: All military ID card holders to include active duty, civilians and family members (who are 18 years old and out of school). The top active duty Air Force male and female golfers (regardless of division) will receive an automatic invitation to the Air Force Golf Trials, at Langley AFB OH 13-20 Oct 10. The Air Force Sports office stipulates that there must be at least three active duty males and females in the competition to warrant the automatic berth. All other golfers may apply using the AF Form 303, Request for Specialized Sports Training. Applications are due to the USAFE Sports Office, NLT 19 July 10. USAFE Sports encourages players of all levels to participate in this year’s event. Our goal is to maximize participation and have fun, yet competitive tournament.
As a sanctioned USAFE Sports Office event, Permissive Temporary Duty (PTDY) to include necessary travel time is authorized with commander’s concurrence. Air Force members should refer to AFI 36-3303, Table 7, Rule 33, Leave program for more details. PTDY can be accomplished on AF Form 988, Request for Leave / Authorization. Active duty personnel are required to maintain Air Force appearance standards as stated in AFI 36-2903, Standards of Dress and Appearance.

-25 July (Sun) - Travel day –athletes arrive
-26 July (Mon) - Check-in (1000) and practice round (18 holes)
-26 July (Mon) - Players meeting at 1700 on club house patio (Icebreaker)
-Tee times posted for 1st round
-Putting competition
- Chipping competition
-27 July (Tue) - 1st round of competition (0800)
Longest Drive Competition; hole will be designated
-28 July (Wed) - 2nd round of competition (0800)
Closest to Pin Competition; hole will be designated
-29 July (Thu) - Final round of championships
Award presentation/ post-championship meal (1400)
-30 July (Fri) - Travel day-athletes depart
Lodging: …30 lodging rooms have been reserved at the KMCC. Please send your request for lodging to my office, Thomas.Burkett@sembach.af.mil to include your e-mail address, unit, and APO. Awards: Awards will be presented for each category at 1400, 29 July at the Woodlawn Golf Course.
Registration: The championship entry fee is $80 per person: $50 for those who are advanced green fee players at their respective bases (Air Force only). Entry fee includes:
-One 18-hole practice round
-Three 18-hole championship rounds
-Ice breaker (refreshments, prizes, etc…)
-Gift bag upon check-in
-Four lunch tickets: Each ticket will be worth $7.00 each
-Four range tokens
-Post championship awards presentation & meal
Registrations are only valid with payment. Registrations must be received by the Woodlawn Golf Course NLT 19 July 10. Payment may be made in the form of a check or money order (no cash). The money order or check must be made out to: 86 SVS / Woodlawn Golf Course.
Payment may also be made over the phone or by e-mail using a credit / debit card. If calling in your payment for the entry fee, the tournament committee needs the following information: name, rank, age, branch of service, unit and base assignment, USGA handicap index, DSN phone number, name of home course, advanced green fee card # & expiration date. Refunds will not be given after 19 July 2010.
Tee times for practice rounds are on a first-pay, first served basis. When payment is received, you will be eligible to reserve your tee time for the practice round at that time.

9. Course notes:
I have no doubt that you will enjoy Ramstein AB’s Woodlawn Golf Course. The 18-hole golf course measures only 6044 yards in length from the back tees and the terrain is relatively flat. The course rating is 67.2 and has a par of 70. The Woodlawn Golf Course Staff is anxious to host the competition for USAFE’s best golfers.
